Functional Appliance

Some-times the problem lies with the skeletal system (bones) rather than the teeth. We can modify the growth & thus give pleasing profiles. This can be done only in growing children.

Braces For Adults

It is a misconception that only children can have braces. Even some 80-90 year olds have undergone Orthodontic treatment! Treatment is possible at any age!

Habit Breaker

Habits like finger & thumb sucking, lip biting, mouth-breathing etc can lead to bad teeth. By giving habit breakers for a few months it is possible to break the habit easily.

Duration of Treatment

The duration of treatment varies from 1 to 2 years depending on the severity of the problem and type of braces used. The patient needs to visit the clinic periodically during this time to monitor treatment. The interval between visits is longer if low friction braces with thermal wires are used.

Care During Treatment

  • You may feel uncomfortable for a week or so
  • You may have little pain and ulcers, for which take medicines as your doctor prescribes
  • Don't worry, within a week you will become alright!
  • If any part of the braces hurts, apply wax or wet cotton over the area

  • Gargle after every food and even after snacks

  • If any part of the braces comes out, bring it carefully during your next appointment
  • Breakages will prolong the treatment period
